Good Fashion Centre
Through the eyes of our founders...
Our founders
GOOD FASHION CENTRE (GFC) is a brainchild of Susanna Mensah and Ana Plastinina who met through a community of fashion professionals, based in London (UK), having realized their communal passion—as well as an industry-wide need—for providing innovative solutions and corresponding tools for fostering a new generation of fashion professionals.
As a result, they founded GFC effectively back in 2022.
Susanna and Ana are real-life industry practitioners whose training and professional background are complimentary to each other. Ana oversees Centre's Marketing & Business Department and she is responsible for contributing Marketing, Consumer Behavior and Fashion Psychology expertise to our clients. Susanna oversees Centre's Sustainability, Design & Innovation Department and she attends to clients on the corresponding projects.

Susanna is a seasoned fashion industry professional with nearly 15 years of diverse experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Her journey began as a dressmaker, where she cultivated her skills in garment technology and consultancy. Over the years, she has made significant contributions to esteemed fashion brands like Jack Wills, Alexander McQueen, and Asos.
Through her work, Susanna has had the opportunity to travel extensively, visiting factories across Europe and Asia. These experiences have endowed her with a deep understanding of the intricacies of production, from conceptualization to retail execution. In 2012, Susanna's perspective was forever altered during a family trip to Ghana, where she witnessed the stark realities of fast fashion and its impact on communities firsthand. The sight of vast quantities of second-hand goods, inundating markets, like the Kumsai market, ignited her passion for addressing the environmental and social impacts of the fashion industry.
The alarming statistic of over 650,000 tonnes of unsold clothing that ended up in landfills in 2019 in the UK catalyzed Susanna's resolve to drive change. In response, she founded Semsah in 2020—a multifaceted platform, blending consultancy services with a sewing community, that is dedicated to prolonging the lifespan of garments. With a mission to promote craftsmanship and sustainability, the platform advocates for circular fashion business models. Collaborating with local sewing experts, Susanna and her team educate consumers on garment care while empowering aspiring sewing professionals. They have partnered with local London councils, organizing repair workshops in schools, event spaces, charity shops, and online platforms. Additionally, they provide consultancy services to fashion brands, guiding them towards more sustainable practices.
Through repair, upcycling, and sewing workshops, Susanna endeavours to inspire both consumers and brands to extend the lifespan of clothing and reduce their environmental footprint. By fostering a community centred around sustainable fashion practices, Susanna and Semsah are driving positive change—one stitch at a time.
Ana has some of the most versatile experience this industry could offer. She a Fashion Marketer, Business Developer, Consultant and Educator with more than a decade of extensive international experience. She founded her first project, a bilingual fashion media platfrom, in 2011 in Shanghai, which then quickly turned into a full-cycle showroom and consultancy representing brands entering China's fashion market. Ever since that her start, Ana has shared in a number of versatile roles—from teaching fashion business at a fashion school to consulting various fashion and "near fashion" projects—which in its turn, allowed her to cultivate a mindful worldview of the fashion industry as a mechanism and system. In 2020, she authored '"I AM" GOD OF FASHION: Reconciling the Fashion Industry to Its Creator', a book exploring the world of fashion from the perpective of a Christian faith and virtues thereof. Later the same year, she founded an eponymous 'God of Fashion: School and Ministry', a platfrom that is dedicated to teaching, researching, networking and consulting on various fashion-instigated societal and business issues from a biblical perspective. She extensively runs online courses, community groups and private mentorship sessions internationally for both groups of "fashion lovers" (i.e. fashion consumers) and fashion entrepreneurs.
Ana hold a Masters in Fashion Business from IFA PARIS/POLIMODA and at the moment, quite literally, resides between the UK and China.
